Why it’s Important to Detox During Your Zerona® Treatment

The Zerona® laser works miracles on your body, but you will get so much more out of it if you help your body detox from all the melted fat that is flooding your system. Yes, your body can cleanse itself – but you will see better results, and feel better, if you do what you can to help it along.

What is does it mean to detox, and why should I worry about that after getting my Zerona® laser treatments? To ‘detox’ just means to get rid of toxins in your body. Your body will absorb many toxins over the years, some of which are processed and expelled by your body’s natural cleansing systems. However, some of them just can’t be dealt with and your body responds by doing the biological equivalent of shoving them in a closet and closing the door, or sweeping them under a rug. The fat cells in your body can act as that closet/rug – storing those toxins. When Zerona® melts away your fat (which is an awesome thing), it also exposes all those stored toxins to your body.

Don’t worry, you shouldn’t have any major issues from this – your body is pretty remarkable at dealing with things. But you could start feeling a little under the weather, like you perhaps are coming down with a cold, feeling a little tired and achy. Being proactive and detoxing your body can help avoid much of these unwanted symptoms and as an added bonus they can also help increase the fat loss effects of Zerona®!

So how do you go about detoxing?

Definitely talk with Dr. Laura about the amazing detoxing kit she recommends. All of the practitioners at Health Connections Holistic Chiropractic Center can help walk you the process as well, but we believe that both Massage and Energy healing will help you along tremendously.

Massage

So how can a massage help detox my body? Well, massage can stimulate the lymph system helping to eliminate toxins from the body. The lymphatic system is comprised of several organs (thymus, tonsils, spleen, adenoids), hundreds of lymph nodes, and a multitude of vessels that run throughout the body. These lymphatic vessels carry a clear fluid, known as lymph, that circulates around the body’s tissues, absorbing fluid, waste products, dead cells, bacteria, viruses, fats, and proteins from the tissue as it goes, while also giving passage to immune cells as they’re needed.

In addition to communicating clearly with your practitioner throughout the session, following a few simple steps will help detox and maximize benefits:

  • Understand that every body reacts differently.Your body is an organism made up of complex systems that react to a constantly changing influx of external factors.
  • Maintain good health practices. This means keeping your mind free of negative clutter.
  • Drink plenty of water immediately following your treatment. Continue to do so for the next day or two. This will re-hydrate your tissues and ease the effects. Consider adding a drop of Lemon Essential Oil to your water for added detoxing benefits and added flavor!
  • Take it easy after your massage. Go home, relax and just allow your body to find its balance naturally.
  • Movement creates a greater lymphatic response and will hurry the process along.

Just because massage feels like a pampering treat doesn’t mean it is any less therapeutic. Consider massage appointments a necessary piece of your health plan, and work with your practitioner to establish a treatment schedule that best meets your needs. Contact us to book your appointment now!

Energy Healing

There are infinite detox programs you can follow. Supplements, powders, juices, cleansing, fasting, dietary adjustments. There as many programs as there are people because we all are looking for something specific when we cleanse. The majority of these programs focus on just the physical detox. In my experience, we neglect other aspects of clearing our systems – mental and energetic.

This month, I’m going to focus on the energetic clearing. Part of the population is classified as “highly sensitive”. This can apply to physically sensitive as to light and noise, or energetically sensitive. Can you walk into a room and know that people were having an argument there? Do you walk past people and feel unexpected sadness or anxiety? Do you have sudden and unexplained emotions that you can’t connect to a memory or an experience? And, does it keep happening? You may be holding on to other peoples’ energy.

We pick up others energies in a huge variety of ways. It can be through our ancestral lineage which can be things that are passed from parent to child (ie: a “family curse”). It can be through our friend group, our romantic/sexual partners, or depending on your level of sensitivity, even through sitting next to someone at a restaurant. Some people are naturally shielded or have learned how to set boundaries to protect their energetic shield. (Believe it or not, this is a skill and can be learned!)

You can also visit an energetic healer to assist you in clearing out the ‘gunk’. In energy healing, guides and intuition show where the blocks are. If they are things that need to be examined and understood, they are there to be discovered, or they may simply be cleared as they no longer serve you. A teacher of mine said – if you can change a molecule, you can change everything. Energy healing seeks out the molecules and invites in divine healing and release to clear those places.

Energetic blocks can prevent us from existing fully in our divine purpose and can block us from moving forward from a toxic situation. If you’re interested in having a trained healer work on clearing your energetic blocks, please contact us today to make an appointment.
